The Tiny Plus SCR Preselector can be used with SDR and analog radios.

It is connected in line between the antenna and your receiver. (transceiver with Dual By-Pass relay accessory).

The Tiny Plus SCR Preselector is controlled from a personal computer via USB or from a radio or digital system supporting I2C bus protocol.

Features:

■ Tuneable Band Pass Filter bank for HF Bands covering 1.8 to 30 MHz.

■ Removes strong signals radiated back to the antenna from SDR quadrature mixers.

■ Five selectable bands more preselector By-Pass function.

■ Passive Band Pass Filters.

No active switching or amplifier devices in the signal path, therefore itself does not contribute to IMD (Intermodulation Distortion).

USB or I2C bus controlled. Automatic selection of control mode.

■ High linearity (IP3). Suitable for Software Define Radios and analogue receivers.

■ Locked to a radio performs tracking tuning function.

■ PTT feature enables by-pass the preselector in transmission allowing connecting in-line with a 100Watts transceiver. (with dual antenna relay option)

■ Two antenna input.

■ 0dB, 6dB, 12dB, 18dB attenuator, selectable.

■ Embedded 110dB stop band Broadcast Band Rejection Filter. (MW band killer filter).

■ Embedded 7th order, 30MHz, Elliptic Low Pas Filter.

Filters: Tapped monocoil wound on large toroidal T-200 iron core avoiding saturation in front of large signals.

■ Digital tuning. Eight bits digital variable capacitor.

■ Input for external PTT/Keying line to by-pass the preselector in transmission mode. 3.5mm plug connector.

■ 12V DC/1Amp. output connector for a 150 Watts dual relay for antenna by-pass. (PTT or Keying line activated)

■ Mini Din connector for I2C control lines from an external radio.

■ USB type B connector for control from the Graphic User Interface (GUI) on PC.

■ Power supply: 12Volts DC/ 0.5Amp max. 2.5mm plug power connector.

■ Dimension: 1650mmx165mmx52mm(6.496x6.496x2.047in).

■ Weight: 1Kg

USB control section

■ Full speed USB v2.0 compliant
.
■ Plug and Play feature.

■ PC controlled through graphical user interface (GUI).

■ The software runs under Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7 (32 & 64 bits) OS.
(Windows 2K users need to update Framework from Windows Update site)

I2C bus control section

■ 16 bits standard I2C Bus serial bus interface. PCF8575 I2C controller.

The Software. USB control mode.

The software program on the PC runs under Windows 2K, XP, Vista32
and Windows 7 (32 & 64 bits) OS.
(Windows 2K users need to update Framework from Windows Update
site.)
The user through the Graphic User Interface commands the Tiny Plus
SCR Preselector.
The program can work at the same time with any SDR software running
on the PC, without interference allowing to the user to control both
simultaneously.

1- Band selection.
By default By-Pass. Click over wanted band button to change.

2- Tuning Decrement.
One step frequency decrement. One step increment of capacity.

3- Status Bar

4- Tune Reference Dial.
Displays the tuning value in picoFarads.
The tune reference is expressed in picofarads with values between 10pF and 255pF.
Sliding right or left increases or decreases the band-pass frequency.
Notice due to the response of series tuned circuits, the attenuation of the pass band filter increases with less capacity.
A good practice is to avoid smaller values.

5- Reference Scale Dial.

6- Digits on numerical scale
can be displaced left or right.
Double click on any digit opens a dialog window that lets change the caption.

7- Tuning knob
Performs tuning moving left or right. Also by pressing left or right arrows on the keyboard or turning mouse wheel.
Adjust to maximum signal or background noise.

8- Tuning Increment
One step frequency increment. One step decrement of capacity.

9- Antenna selection. Ant1 or Ant2.

10- Input Attenuator selection. 0dB-6dB-12dB-18dB

11- Memories. Five memories per band 25 in total.
Clear-Store and Recall functions for each memory position.
Store function lets write a text labe. lA brief descriptive text can be written in dialog window.

PTT activated

When the external PTT/Keying line is activated the Tiny Plus SCR Preselector switchs to By-Pass mode and the caption "ON AIR" appares on tune(pf) window.

In this state and as measure for safeguarding its internal circuitry all internal relays are disconnected.

Releasing the PTT/Keying line the Tiny Plus SCR Preselector recovers its last configuration.

General Purpose Dual By-Pass relay

Model: Default By-Pass

150 Watts RF power rating

PTT or Keying line activated.

It is designed to by-pass the Input and Output RF ports of any device in line
with your transceiver or transmitter.
A typical application includes inserting between antenna and a transceiver
or transmitter a preselector, preamplifier or filter device.
On transmission switchover, via PTT or Keying line, the Input and Output RF
ports of the device are by-passed avoiding being overloaded.

USB Galvanic Digital Isolator for SDR radios

The USB Galvanic Digital Isolator for SDR radios is designed to break
the galvanic connection between USB host PC and the attached SDR
radio peripheral avoiding that whatever power and ground noise from
the PC side do not influence the sensible radio on the other side.

The resultant galvanic isolation improves common-mode voltage,
prevents ground loops, a common cause of interference and data
distortion issues, improves reception, as the noise floor in the receiver
is lowered, and removes spikes and birdies on the PC panoramic
screen. In addition provides isolation of 1000V AC between the host PC
and the radio peripheral that guard against surges that may come from
the antenna connected to the receiver.
